I have a lot of things I don't like about this season, but this decision wasn't one of them. As a book reader and a tv show watcher, Dany has been a character that has unsettled me for a long time. While I ultimately do think this is her fate in the books, the tv show writers kinda ruined everything by rushing - they honestly should've at least had two more seasons of this show in order for things to progress like they should've and to give characters time to develop (or regress in terms of Daenerys) instead of doing complete 360 in the span of only two episodes
Even though this is the direction I wanted to see her go in, it is bittersweet to say goodbye to the part of her that was good - the part I rooted for multiple times. I'm sad to see her go down the road she's tried so hard to avoid, but I do think her character ending up this was is inevitable.
